Mandate
As per ICAR guidelines KVK is having following mandates for
implementing its activities:

Thrust Areas
Bishupur district has a vast area under lakes and low-lying
areas. Loktak lake (286sq.km), the biggest freshwater lake in NE
region lies in between Bishnupur and Imphal West districts. More
than 50% of the states fish production (18,600tonnes) is
produced from Bishnupur district.
As the district has large water resources and tremendous scope
for fish production, the main thrust of the KVK in on fisheries.
